Warren Township is governed under the Township form of government with a five-member Township Committee. The Township Committee is elected directly by the voters in partisan elections to serve three-year terms of office on a staggered basis, with one or two seats coming up for election each year. The Warren Township Schools serve public school students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Schools in the district (with 2005-06 enrollment data from the National Center for Education Statistics) are four K - 5 elementary schools - Central School (386 students), Mt. Horeb School (415), Angelo L. Tomaso School (375), Woodland School (329) - and Warren Middle School (766) for grades 6-8.

Parks and Recreation in Warren, NJ
Municipal Grounds - The Municipal Grounds are located adjacent to and behind the Municipal Building, Library and Police Station at 46 Mountain Boulevard. (off of Bardy Rd ) Comprising approximately 25 acres, the grounds include 5-lighted multi-purpose fields. A covered pavilion with rest rooms and a water fountain is available for use. Part of the area is used for night football practice, Lacrosse practice, summer concerts and large community events. There are also basketball courts, picnic areas with NEW!! playground equipment* and three tennis courts available to the public.
Dealaman Nature Trail and Pond - Dealaman Nature Trail and pond is located on Mt. Horeb Road about a 1/2 mile from the intersection of Mt. Horeb Rd. and Mt. Bethel Rd. past the Central School on the right. Parking for the Dealaman Nature Trail and Pond is available at 182 Mount Horeb Road. From the parking lot you can walk to the pond 100 yards through the woods. The following rules apply:
- Fish must be returned to the pond
- No cooking/barbecues at the pond
- Please help pick up litter around the pond, use garbage cans supplied
- No parking on the lawn
Dubois Road Fields - The Dubois Road site (also known as Duderstadt) offers two multi-purpose fields for use by various community sports groups. The lower field is a synthetic field.
East County Reserve Athletic Complex - The East County Reserve Complex is located on Old Stirling Road, across from the Warren Middle School, and includes a synthetic turf multipurpose field and a grass practice field.
Elm Avenue Park - Elm Avenue Park is the Township's newest playground, located just off of Liberty Corner Road. The playground offers a play area for ages 2 -5 years and a play area for 5 - 12 years.
Greenwood Meadows Park - Greenwood Meadows Park is located off of Liberty Corner Road and offers a playground area, recreational ball field, tennis courts and a newly constructed gazebo for public use.
Recreation Open Space and Trails - Hundreds of acres of open space throughout the Township. Maps and detailed information on each site is available at the Recreation Department.
Warrenbrook Park (Somerset County) - Located on Warrenville Road, Warrenbrook Park is a facility operated by the Somerset County Park Commission. The public facility includes an 18-hole golf course, pro shop and clubhouse, swimming pools for adults and children, cross- country skiing, and is the location for the Somerset County Multi purpose Senior Center. This center is run by member contributions and voluntary direction through the Somerset County Office on Aging and offers programs and hot lunches all week. Programs include trips, theatrical groups, dancercise, arts and crafts, shopping trips, yoga, bingo, oil painting and holiday parties
